Hi there ECPFHA members and friends. We are now in the brand new year 2008 and the club has all sorts of exciting functions being organized for you to participate in! It promises to be a very adventure filled year for us.
One of the above mentioned functions we are offering is an organized trip to Equine Affaire in Columbus, Ohio in April 2008.
Equine Affaire is one of the USA Premiere Equine Exposition and Equestrian Gatherings. Four days of clinics, seminars, and demonstrations from an exceptional lineup of horse-industry professionals along with world class shopping, representatives from many different breeds, and youth-oriented activities. Presenters scheduled to appear include:- Clinton Anderson, Bob Avila, Craig Cameron, Buck Davidson, Bob Blackwell, Elizabeth Graves, Karen Scholl, Kenny Harlow, Scot Hansen and Sandy Siegrist. Along with many others.
There is an educational program with more than 230 non-repeating clinics, demonstrations and seminars. Hundreds of vendors in the largest equine trade show in the Midwest. Breed, horse, and farm exhibits showcasing breeds from all over the world. To read all about this terrific Affaire go to www.equineaffaire.com.
Advance sale of these tickets started in January and ends March 16th.
This trip will start out on Wednesday April 9th and returns on Monday April 14th. We have come up with some pricing for this trip, however, it will really be dependant on the number of members who wish to go along.
Price based on 8 sharing van rental, insurance, taxes and gas costs, plus 5 nights hotel @ $50 per person per night (based on 2 sharing a room), plus entry fee of $45 for all four days. That makes a total cost for each attendee of $400 (approximately).
NOTE these costs can/will change according to numbers attending.
There are certain hotels which have special rates for people attending this function, the following names are examples: -
Holiday Inn on the Lane, University Plaza Hotel, Ramada Plaza Hotel, Best Value Inn, Country Inn and Suites, Best Western, Holiday Inn Express.

UPDATE ON EQUINE AFFAIRE 2008
Well folks, we are a go for Equine Affaire! Eight members have signed up for the trip and we have now decided to book a larger van in which we can take 11 adults if required (or just have more room to move around). So, if you would like to go we may still have room for you!
We are all looking forward to our trip with much anticipation. Pete and I went about 10 years ago and if it is half as good now, as it was then we will be well satisfied. Will let you all know how we get on with a report on our return. ~ Denise
